The GECU Foundation* provided Thanksgiving dinners and toys for the Christmas season to local El Pasoans at Mi Comunidad Center — a space where members of the community can gather for group activities, a monthly food pantry, ESL classes, after-school tutoring, free tax preparation, free financial education presentations and more. Community members in the Northeast area of El Paso greatly benefit from donations during the holiday season.

Thanks to your support, the holiday fundraiser was a success! We raised close to $5,000 and provided Thanksgiving meals to 218 families and toys to more than 300 children. We are so proud of the tremendous response that we received from True Blue and are grateful for your generous donations. You all really came together to put our people helping people philosophy into action.

Watch the video below to see the impact that we made!

The GECU Foundation is focused on philanthropy, which helps to improve the well-being of those around us by preventing and solving social problems. Philanthropy is not the same as charity. Charity focuses on eliminating the suffering caused by social problems, while philanthropy focuses on eliminating social problems.

*The GECU Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity established to maximize philanthropic efforts to benefit education, community programs and charitable giving. If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, you may be entitled to claim your donation to the GECU Foundation as a charitable deduction.
