Every year, GECU employees come together to support education by donating to our back-to-school fundraiser and it is always a tremendous success! We are so passionate about helping our community that we decided we want to help even more students — but we’re going to need your help to do it.
For the 2020 school year, the GECU Foundation raised funds to provide students from three schools in our community with the essential supplies that they need for the school year. We welcomed the community to help us reach our goal and it was a tremendous success! With the help of GECU employees, members, State Representative Cesar Blanco and the entire community, we raised more than $11,000 and provided 990 students with everything from backpacks and headphones to crayons and pencils!
We were able to help students at:
• Constance Hulbert Elementary School — YISD
• Hart Elementary School — EPISD
• Escontrias Elementary School — SISD
• Lower Dyer Community Center
