President Obama and his family discovered something El Pasoans have known for years: a visit to Carlsbad Caverns is a great way to escape the summer heat. The First Family descended into the caverns June 17th, as part of a working vacation.
The trip celebrates the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. After their visit to Carlsbad, a few hours east of El Paso, the President and his family flew to Yosemite National Park in California.
One thing we’re dying to know: How did President Obama enjoy that long, long elevator ride to the surface?
